PAC-MAN

Earlier today my friend Holly showed me this video and I just couldn't stop laughing. It is definitely categorized under cheesy slapstick comedy; but nonetheless, the expressions on everyone's face is priceless. It gave me the idea of being PAC-MAN on Halloween and have a bunch of my buddies chase me around like those little monster guys. Lol. There's another video of the same french guy, in a go-kart, dressed up as Mario, and driving around a major city; it's hilarious...Here's a link to the YouTube html: Mario Kart (Remi Gaillard)

Toast to the Douchebags

So I was watching the VMAs last weekend and all I could feel the whole show was this overwhelming sense of disappointment and doom. I know exactly what Professor McArdle means when he says MTV is bringing about the end of humanity as we know it.

Right in the beginning of the show I watched Nikki Minaj and Will-I-Am come out in the most ridiculous outfits, displaying a pathetic excuse of musical talent. I thought there is nothing that could be more disappointing to the music industry.

Then to my surprise I watched Lady Gaga walk up stage for eight different moon man awards in an outfit made out of raw meat!?

Even worse, I almost broke into tears when I found out Justin Bieber had won the award for Best New Artist. Who has Bieber fever!?

The person that looked most awkward on stage though was the host, Chelsea Handler, and that’s due to the fact that she was the only normal person there! I mean seriously, what a horrible night, I officially hate mainstream music.

There were good parts to the VMAs. My favorite part of the entire night was when I listened to Kanye West sing his new song, Toast to the Douchebags, through a distorted synthesizer; irony anyone?

So now I have to ask, do I need to drastically lower my expectations for musical talent? Should I just give in to this popularity contest and give up on raw talent forever? Fuck no! I advise everyone to turn off their radios, pop in a CD from the 90s, and just pretend the tragedy of the VMAs never happened. Maybe if we all pretend Lady Gaga doesn’t exist, she will just disappear…Just some food for thought…May god have mercy on the music industry!

These Fridays and Saturdays are bound to catch up with me!!!

You go to college and most people expect to party...I just took it to a new level; when I first got here I had a bunch of upperclassmen friends that already went here, and pretty much have the partying scene down to a science. Almost every night i feel like I am trying to stay awake, keep up, and prove that I've been around the block before. I definitely need to slow down and quit waiting for Recovery Day (Sunday) to roll around to finish all of my homework...Not to say the weekends aren't supposed to be fun..but does everyday really need a theme? (i.e. Muffed Monday Tipsy Tuesday Wasted Wednesday THIRSTY THURSDAY...etc, etc, etc)....I'm not paying $16,000+ a year to party, but to have and educational awakening, a mental experience eh?

Back to BC

I woke up on Thursday morning to my mom calling me and telling me my dad had a seizure. He's had seizures before, but it has been a while since his last one so I was kind of worried. My mom came all the way to Muncie from Lebanon, Indiana (roughly an hour and a half directly west of here), picked me up; then we drove all the way to Vincennes where my dad was working at the time to go see him. Low and behold there's my dad eating a huge meal from the hospital acting like nothing happened, what a trooper.  I had to drive my dad's truck back to Lebanon because he was still a little dizzy. Once I got back to Boone County, I met up with a bunch of my old friends and went over stories about the crazy nights in Funcie. Even though I was back in my home town with my friends, I felt out of place...Like I'm not truly home anymore...That my home was Muncie, Indiana now...I can deal with that though...It truly is a fun place and does live up to its nickname Funcie!!!
